At H-E-B’s annual Tournament of Champions, MagRabbit CEO and founder, Tommy Hodinh, joined hundreds of volunteers to support a San Antonio local nonprofit by building a new playground at Wheatley Middle School for the community. MagRabbit participates in the event yearly as a vendor of H-E-B and recently was selected as H-E-B’s MBE Supplier of the Year for 2015.

"MagRabbit has been supporting H-E-B charity events for the last several years and this year is the first time I really came out to the field to work. It was inspiring to witness hundreds of H-E-B employees and H-E-B suppliers working together to paint the walls, to put grass in, and assemble the playground equipment for the Wheatley Middle School in San Antonio,” said Tommy Hodinh.

The H-E-B Tournament of Champions fund-raising event is in its 30th year, having raised over $80 million for more than 600 nonprofits throughout Texas and is expected to bring in $8 million this year alone. This year, H-E-B built a new park at Wheatley Middle School, volunteered at the San Antonio Food Bank, and made repairs to the Boysville nonprofit children’s home.

Volunteers not only built a new playground but also a soccer field and resurfaced tennis and basketball courts at the school. For the playground, they laid sod, painted and built playground equipment, installed exercise stations, and improved sidewalks and walking trails.

Hodinh added “I was very impressed with huge task accomplished by the team. We walked into an empty field and 4 hours later the job was done. If you asked me if I would go again next year, the answer is “I wouldn’t want to miss it".”

The nonprofit, San Antonio Sports, asked H-E-B to help them promote family fitness in the community. Suzanne Wade, H-E-B President of San Antonio Food/Drug Division, was interviewed by Rivard Report and said of the project, “It’s really our responsibility to give back to the community because the community has supported us over 110 years now. We all have fun and it gives us a chance to interact in a different way than we do when we are just negotiating business.” MagRabbit is honored to support H-E-B and their dedication to serving our Texas communities.

MagRabbit is located in Austin, TX and is a custom software development company that provides clients with supply chain software, enterprise application solutions, responsive website design, mobile app development and more.
